Port security officers (ISPS Code, Parag. 18.2).

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING CONTENT

Training will cover the following points :

Techniques for detecting people, unauthorized vehicles and prohibited or restricted items;
Knowledge of regulations and principles of security visits;
Techniques for distinguishing between authorized and unauthorized access, and the relevant control procedures;
Security palpation techniques;
Flow management;
Knowledge of access control rules;
Detection techniques and tools ;

 

Expected results:

At the end of the seminar, auditors will be able to:

  • Manage and improve access controls;
  • Manage crowds at access points;
  • Improve filtering measures;
  • Apply control procedures.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

This training is organized for port facility personnel in charge of specific security tasks in ports of SAFE PORT Project eligible countries:

  • Côte d’Ivoire (3), Cape Verde (2), Gambia (2), Guinea (2), Guinea-Bissau (2), Liberia (2), Nigeria (2), Sierra Leone (2), Mauritania (2), Gabon (2), Mozambique (2) and Angola (2) ;
  • AGPAOC (1)

A total of 25 participants.
