



Academic Year 2024-2025
The Interregional Maritime Security Institute (ISMI) of the Regional Academy of Marine Sciences and Technology (ARSTM) in Abidjan, in collaboration with the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Nantes University (France), offers the Master 2 program: Law and Security of Maritime and Oceanic Activities (DSAMO).
Degree Awarded : A French national diploma awarded under the seal of Nantes University and a certificate from ARSTM.
This program is financially supported by French Cooperation.
OBJECTIVES
Train professionals capable of applying national, international, and regional regulations related to maritime activities and their exploitation (maritime transport, fishing, towing, piloting, assistance, offshore oil exploitation, safety, and security) while having a solid knowledge of maritime judicial procedures.
MULTIMODAL TEACHING METHOD
- Distance learning (with two options to choose from)
- On-site courses in Abidjan
LANGUAGE
The Master’s program is taught in French.
DURATION
The course lasts 10 months, starting in September 2024.
TEACHING STAFF
Courses taught by lecturers from Nantes Université’s Faculty of Law and Political Science and by lecturers from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Maritime (Nantes site) and ARSTM.

ADMISSION PROCEDURES
Admission is by application:
Diploma required: Master 1 or BAC+4 in law, economics or any other field containing a minimum of legal training, with at least 2 years’ professional experience in the maritime sector for professionals.
A merchant navy officer’s qualification (Engineering Officer, Captain, Officer in charge of a seagoing ship’s watch);
Or validation of professional experience including a minimum of legal practice for Bac+2 graduates with 5 years’ experience.
Fluency in French and a good level of English
Good computer skills
